Rashmi M. Amin, 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He was born on December 6, 1950 in Baroda, India, to Manubhai Amin and Vidyaben Amin. He married Smita Amin, nee Patel, on December 2, 1985, in Baroda, India.
Rashmi attended M.S. University in Baroda, India, graduating with a degree in Engineering. He immigrated to the United States in 1979. Rashmi Amin was the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Akorn Pharmaceuticals in Lake Forest, Illinois. He spent the majority of his career in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs ushering new drugs through the FDA approval process.
Rashmi created a loving home with his wife Smita, first in Mount Prospect, then in Hoffman Estates, raising two daughters of whom he was immensely proud. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and dear friend. He had a knack for striking up new friendships in his later years and was happiest in the company of others.
He is survived by his wife Smita Amin, daughters, Namita Amin, and Priyal (Trent Rehusch) Amin.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
