Raymond Fairbanks, Jr

Raymond C. Fairbanks Jr., 88, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1928 in Chicago to Roy and Alice (nee Resch) Fairbanks.

Raymond was a veteran of the United States Army. Raymond met his wife, Marge while working at Prudential Insurance. They were united in marriage on November 23, 1950 in Chicago and have celebrated 66 years and raised 6 kids.

He was very involved with St. Marcelline’s Church in Schaumburg. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Holy Name Society. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and was happy to see the Cubs win the World Series in his lifetime. He enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball and watching his daughters in a variety of activities.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his loving wife Marge; his children, Raymond (Trish) Fairbanks, William (Cyndy) Fairbanks, Patricia (David) Ziehmke, Catherine (Gary) Thurston, Alice (Jim) Fairbanks-Burton, Nancy (John) Burroughs; grandchildren, Josh (Kayleen) and Tom Fairbanks, Brooke, Paige and Blake Fairbanks; Tony (Elizabeth) and Danny (Ashleigh) Ziehmke; Chris and Jenelle Thurston; Kyle and Lindsey Burton; Tim and Rachel Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Logan and Charlotte Ziehmke; his brother, Jerry Fairbanks; brother-in-law Dick Karst. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 from 9am until the 10am funeral mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, IL. Inurnment is to follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine.
