Raymond Howard Owen

Raymond Howard Owen, 35, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 14, 2024. Ray was born September 9, 1988, in Seoul, South Korea to Matthew and Hye Un Owen.

Ray is survived by his loving wife Kaitlyn; daughter, Kindley; parents, Matthew and Hye Un Owen; maternal grandmother, Lee, Dong Hyong Oh; paternal aunts, Karen (Gary) Poe, Sharon Owen, and Cathy Ousley; parent-in-laws, Andrew and Kathleen Lic; sibling-in-laws, Karly (Alexander) Watkins, and Hannah Lic; paternal uncle, Mark (Missy) Owen; and niece, Emelia Watkins. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tea Young Oh; paternal grandparents, Howard and Joan Owen; and paternal uncle, Mike Owen.

Ray was a kind and loving husband to Kaitlyn. His joy was the family that they created together and becoming a father to Kindley. Ray loved capturing precious moments together and sharing them with everyone. He served and cared for his family well. He was a man who fiercely loved Jesus with every part of his being and enjoyed singing and playing guitar on various worship teams.

Friends describe Ray as fearless, and being a constant pure worshiper, and just loving life. He was brutally honest if needed but still careful not to overwhelm. He liked his alone time but deeply enjoyed his people, and more than anything on earth just wanted to keep learning how to live out of the heart Jesus gave him. And he, of course, was a BBQ pitmaster.

Even in his last moments on earth, he spent the majority of his time worshiping Jesus and loving others including many medical staff that he came into contact with. Ray was a man who always kept a positive outlook during his illness no matter what he was faced with. He was a fighter and fought well for his family and friends.
