Raymond Petersen
February 3, 1937 — January 19, 2014
The funeral service for Raymond S. Petersen, 76, a lifelong resident of Barrington and most recently of Marco Island, FL, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St., Barrington. Interment will be private at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Born February 3, 1937, Ray passed away peacefully Jan 19, 2014 at the Wauconda Healthcare Center.
Ray was a member of the Plumber Union Local 130 and Owner of Petersen Son and Plumbing, Ten Pin Bowl, RSVP’s Restaurant and the Barrington Fitness Center. He was a member of ASSE, American Society of Sanitary Workers, and a member of the Local Order of the Moose. Ray was very active in the Quarterback Club and American Legion Baseball. He enjoyed riding his Harley, boating, horseback riding, traveling around in his RV, entertaining anyone and everyone and always found the best ice cream places!!
Survivors include his children, Linda (Scott) McFeely, Kathy (Rick) Turner, Stephen (Lisa) Petersen and Janet (David) Jewell; grandchildren, Rebecca, Samantha, John and Scott Bell, Jamie, Steven, Christina, and Jason McFeely, Jake, Teagan and Rayth Petersen, and David J Jewell; great grandchildren, Sydney Maxx , and Lillian; his sister, Karen (Mike) Williams and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E and Martha (nee Carson); sister, Joan Walsh; and brother, Edwin Petersen.
