Raymond “Jack” Kirchwehm, 83, of Hawthorn Woods, IL, died peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 22, 1936 in Chicago to the late Raymond Julius and Amelia (nee Lipp) Kirchwehm. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958. On April 25, 1970 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Hull in Chicago.
Jack earned a BS from Northwestern University. He was President of Rixson-Firemark in Franklin Park, IL and retired in April of 1989. He was a member of Lake Zurich Lions Club, past President of Franklin Park Rotary Club and past President of Midwest Industrial Manufacturing Association (MIMA).
Jack enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, trap shooting, fishing, boating, skiing, painting and restoring vehicles and meeting up with his hunting buddies for breakfast. He enjoyed many hunting trips with his three sons. Jack loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marilyn; his children, Brant Kirchwehm of Austin, TX, Bryan Kirchwehm of Pasadena, CA, Lisa (Tim) Justice of Arlington Heights, IL, and Michael (Angela) Kirchwehm of Antioch, IL; his grandchildren, Andrew Hutsell, James Gillespie, Stephanie Kirchwehm, Lauren Justice, Zachary Kirchwehm, Ryan Justice and Violet Kirchwehm; and his sister, Gail Wasmund.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of his Memorial Service at 11:00am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL. His ashes will be buried in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle, Minnesota at a later date. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
