Rebell “Rebel” C. DiBartolomeo, 83, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on October 6, 2015. He was born on July 20, 1932 in Joliet, IL to Rebelle and Marie (nee Nagra) DiBartolomeo.
Rebel was a proud veteran of the US Army, where he served during the Korean War. He was a former employee of Motorola for 42 years. He enjoyed being with family and friends, tinkering with cars including model cars and going to garage sales with his good friend Fred. Rebel’s best buddies were the late Clarence and Tuxedo. Tuxedo will surely miss Rebel.
Rebel is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bente (nee Hansen), with whom he was united in marriage on May 15, 1976. In addition to his wife, Rebel is survived by his children, Diane (William J. Vankat, Jr.) DiBartolomeo, Robert (Kevin McCarthy) DiBartolomeo and Kenneth (Laura) Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rita DiSalvo.
Memorial visitation celebrating Rebel's life will be Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176) Crystal Lake, IL Inurnment will be held at a later time at St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine.
