Regina Sue Andrews

June 30, 1949 — September 23, 2021

Davenport, Barrington

Regina Sue Andrews, 72, of Lake Barrington passed away peacefully at her home, September 23, 2021 with her loving family by her side.  She was born June 30, 1949 in Chicago to Richard and Jean Andrews.

Reggie was born in Chicago and thereafter lived in Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Algonquin and Barrington.  Earlier in her career, Reggie worked with children and adults with developmental challenges, and was later the co-owner of “Handmade on Main” in Algonquin, where she obtained her dream of teaching art to children. She had many facets to her diamond personality...she was caring, kind, easygoing, strong, fun-loving,  a great listener, and friendly, although if she didn't like you, you would know it!  She was incredibly talented and produced stunning paintings, some of which are displayed here.  Reggie made friends easily.  Everyone loves someone with an infectious smile, and she fit the bill perfectly.  She had a cheerful outlook--the sort of person who everyone takes a liking to.  She maintained an outgoing attitude, a smile, and a wonderful sense of humor.  One thing is certain--that we are all the poorer for losing her but much richer for knowing her.  Reggie was always perfectly dressed and beautifully put together.  She loved healthy eating and liked being active every day, whether it was going to yoga or the fitness center.  She loved to shop—the more shopping bags the better!  Reggie particularly loved going to Marshall Field's at Christmas and having lunch in the Walnut Room.  This was a tradition that was started with her mother and which Reggie continued with her daughter.  She also loved to travel—especially to Mexico, and she loved watching HGTV!

Reggie is survived by her loving partner and dear friend of 30 years, Lori Cole; daughter, Dawn (Rob) Klott; son, David Podgurski; grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Klott; and sister, Tracy (Rich) Johanson.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 12:30pm until the funeral service at 1:30pm, Tuesday, September 28 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St (Lake Cook Road), Barrington.  Burial will follow in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
