Richard J. (""""Dick"""") Baum"", Sr. departed February 25, 2013. Dick was a devoted husband for 35 years to Bonnie (Farrell), loving father to Teri (Frank) Sellars, Bill (Mary Ellen), Michael (Tobin), and Richard, Jr., and proud Grandpa to Cecilia and Diane Sellars, Rose and Robert Baum, and Kristian and Collette Baum. Dick’s loves included his family, friends, bowling (North & Northwest Suburban Senior Men’s Traveling League), good music, nature, and Chicago sports teams, especially ‘Da Bears (STH since ’75), ‘Da Bulls, and the White Sox. Numerous car show appearances with his black ’47 Buick Roadmaster Sedanette made crowds swoon and his heart swell. Dick's intelligence, wisdom, kindness, humor, and love of life will forever remain an inspiration and guiding force to those honored to know him. His various careers in academia and business were sources of joy to Dick, and made his family honored and proud. He was a Loyola University accounting major, CPA, and University of Chicago MBA who enjoyed a very successful financial career managing and consulting numerous companies in several industries. He had a teaching and tutoring career in accounting for over 25 years, most notably at Oakton Community College.
