Richard “Dick” Brandel,80, of Barrington, IL, passed away on Monday, November 14,2011, in Barrington.
Dick was born on October 30, 1931 to Lawrence and Grace Brandel in Chicago.
He graduated from Foreman High School, and later joined the Air Force, where he served in Japan during the Korean War. Dick worked for J. Emil Anderson and Sons, where he worked in construction for over 50 years. He married the love of his life Eileen Marchi in 1958 and they enjoyed over 53 years together.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Eileen (nee Marchi); children, Stuart (Deborah) Brandel, Kenneth Brandel and Laura (Randall) Kamptner; grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan and Evan Brandel, Isabella and Benjamin Kamptner; brother, Donald Brandel, and sister Grace Campbell, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers and sisters.
Memorial visitation will be held from 9-10a.m., Friday, November 18,2011, at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington, IL. A memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., following the visitation at church.
