Richard J. Fontecchio, 66, of Bonita Springs, Florida and formerly of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at JourneyCare in Woodstock. He was born January 17, 1948 in Ironwood, Michigan.

Richard graduated from Elmhurst College with a B.A. and earned his M.B.A. from Lake Forest College. In 1985 he co-founded HydraForce, Inc. in Lincolnshire, which grew to become a global enterprise with additional manufacturing plants in England and China.

Dick enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing with his daughter and spending time with his family and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carol A. nee Sloan, whom he married on November 8, 1986 in Long Grove; a daughter, Andrea Jeanne Fontecchio; his mother, Helen Elizabeth nee Barsh Fontecchio; siblings, Jerry (Mary) Fontecchio, Jane (David) Bates, and David (Elizabeth) Fontecchio; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer Fontecchio, Ryan and Alan Bates, and Michael, Ana, and Isabella Fontecchio.

Preceding him in death were his son, Mark R. Fontecchio, and his father, John L. Fontecchio.

The visitation for Dick will be from 3-8pm, Friday, September 12 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will begin at 10:30am, Saturday, September 13 at the funeral home with Father Jack Dews officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.
