Richard “Dick” Herdrich

Born April 19, 1928 in Evanston to Clarence and Catherine (nee Coffey), Dick passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015.

Dick was a graduate of St. George High School and had attended Loyola University. He and his wife, Therese, raised their 7 children in Arlington Heights for 25 years before moving to Inverness, then to Florida, and recently settling in Barrington. He was the proud owner of Plastics Marketing and later, Arlington Mills in Arlington Heights. Dick and Therese were avid golfers, skiers, tennis players, Gin Rummy and Texas Holdem players at their couples group in Florida, and enjoyed traveling the world together. They were former members of the Biltmore Country Club in Barrington and the Glen Lakes Country Club in Florida.

In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, Therese (nee Lange), Dick is survived by his children, Kathy Herdrich, Pam Weber, Lynn (George) Garfinkel, Nancy (David) Hook, Rick (Eileen) Herdrich, Laura Herdrich, and Mark Herdrich; grandchildren, Tamara (Marc) Hubbard, Amy (Adam) Reimel, Caitlin (Tim) Hermie, Emily Weber, Brian Garfinkel, and George Hook; great-grandchildren, Zachary Hubbard, Alex Hubbard, and Felicity Reimel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jack, Bob, and Jerry; and uncle, Reverend Edward Coffey.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, June 26, from 4-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. The Memorial Mass will be held the following day, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W Palatine Rd., Inverness, IL 60067 where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.
