Richard "Rick" Kniesel

March 30, 1964 — April 13, 2019

Davenport Crystal Lake

Rick was born March 30, 1964 in Chicago to Matthias and Maria (nee Halter) Kniesel.  He passed away at his home in Crystal Lake April 13, 2019.

Rick grew up in Chicago and had 4 children with his wife Dorothy. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Rick had various jobs growing up but ended as a painter and business owner, he was very proud of the company and clients he built. Rick was known for his outgoing personality. He was always out and about and everyone knew his name and friendly smile. He could make friends with anyone he met. Rick was the life of the party. He enjoyed his every day "spots" and crew he met there. He will be missed by many. Rick has 3 grandchildren he adored and bragged about. He looked forward to seeing them and spoiling them every week. Rick left us too fast and we wish we had more time with him. He will always be loved and never forgotten. He earned his wings.

Rick is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Molly Gladden, Richard Jr. (Dana) Kniesel, Kevin Kniesel, and Kyle Kniesel; grandchildren, Richard, Charles, and Henry; and siblings, Hertha, Horst, Ernie, Matt, and Otto.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Rick's life will be held at 12pm, Sunday, May 19th at The Quarry Cable Park, 5517 Northwest Highway (Route 14), Crystal Lake.
