Richard H. Loeding

Richard H. Loeding, age 73, passed away on Nov. 7th at his home in Crystal Lake after battling cancer for over a year. Richard was born in Des Plaines, Illinois to his late parents Harry and Alvina. He was the 4th born of 6 children. He continues to be survived by his remaining siblings Judy (Robert), Ronald (Martha), William (Deborah), and Larry (Lena). He is preceded in death by his late brother James.

Among Richard’s greatest achievements is the family legacy he created with his devoted wife Maureen Loeding and his four children, Erin Loeding, Bryan Loeding (Taina), Brett Loeding (Megan), and Kyle Loeding. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Ogden (9), Oakley (9), Lilianna (6), Parker (3), Tessa (3), and Reece (0).

While Richard’s physical presence is deeply missed, we find solace in knowing his suffering has ended. He lived a full and meaningful life, marked by service and love. He served his country in the U.S. Army, owned a trucking company, and dedicated time to his community as a school bus driver. Richard was a devoted coach, guiding his children through countless sports seasons. He also brought joy to his family through his love of card games, his culinary skills, and his quick wit and humor.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, from 4 pm until a service with military honors at 7:30 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.

May Richard’s memory live on in the hearts of his loved ones, in every shared laugh, and in the countless quirks and remarks that echo his spirit.
