Richard A. Matre"", Ph.D,90, of Barrington, IL formerly of Oak Park and Wilmette, IL, at rest Thursday, September 27, 2012. Dr. Matre was the former Provost of the Medical Centers of Loyola University and St. Louis University. Beloved husband of Marilu (nee Flanagan); loving father of Pat (Miriam Goldfein), Mike, Peggy (Steve) Hartley, Liz (Barry) Brigham, Jeanne (Pat) Conway, Terry (Dave Stubbs) Matre, Rich (Lauren), Loretta (Aurelio) Prifitera, and John (Jill); cherished grandfather of 19 and great-grandfather of 5; dear brother of Helen (the late John) Hopkinson; fond son of the late Richard J. and Gertrude (nee O’Rourke).

 

 Visitation 4-8 p.m."", Monday, October 1, in the Family Room at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 2, at 1 p.m., at the church. Private interment.
