Lake Barrington, Illinois,The funeral service for Richard Leslie John Mossman, 84, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 9, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, where the family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Born September 25, 1926, in Chicago, he passed away Monday, October 4, 2010, at the Pepper Family Hospice Home, Barrington. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army. Mr. Mossman retired from Aluminum Distributors, where he had been a salesman. He had previously worked for Steel Sales. During his career, he received various recognitions for successful work and achievements. He enjoyed golf, spending time with his family and being involved in his children?s and grandchildren?s activities and education. Mr. Mossman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lorraine Elizabeth Mossman (nee Berg), whom he married February 12, 1949, in Chicago; daughters, Linda (Michael) Corteen, Nancy (Michael) Creswell, and Susan (Dave) Ferenc; grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly), Jonathan (Gretchen), and Kimberly Corteen, Jeffrey Creswell, and David Ferenc; great-grandchildren, Owen, Emily, and Luke Corteen; and a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Hazel Mossman. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Mossman?s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 225 N.
