Richard “Rick” Schneider, long-time resident of Barrington, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the age of 65.
He was born February 27, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Richard and Margaret (nee Goldenberg) Schneider. Rick proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1974. He spent 18 months serving in Vietnam with a helicopter rescue squadron. In October 1973, Rick married Jacalyne Fromme. He started with FedEx in March 1974, and retired after 25 years as the Vice President of Midwest Operations.
Rick was an avid sports fan; loved being outdoors, enjoyed golfing and working in the yard, loved spending time with his church group, friends, and most importantly family.
In addition to his loving wife of 41 years, Jacalyne, Rick is survived by his sons, Eric David (Danielle), John Richard (Amanda) and Michael Frank (Kelly) Schneider; grandchildren, William, Garrett, Livia, Ashlyn, and Ryan; sister, Diana (Donald) Bahr; sister-in-laws, Jill (Daniel) McCabe, Laura (David) Koking; and mother-in-law, Patricia Fromme.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol (Jack) Richardson; and father-in-law, Frank Fromme.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 3-9 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. The funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, June 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E Algonquin Rd. South Barrington, IL 60010. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
