Richard Scott

Tucson, Arizona,The funeral service for Richard Walker Scott, 83, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Barrington, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 29, at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 S. Brinker Road, Barrington Hills, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Reverend Dr. Curtis Baxter will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Born January 24, 1927 in Galesburg, IL, he passed away suddenly January 23, 2011 at his home in Tucson, AZ. He retired after a 32 year career at JC Penney Company as a store manager and regional sales and merchandise manager. Richard was a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and past President of the Board of Trustees of the Presbyterian Church of Barrington. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a life-long Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two children, Stephen (Kathie) Scott of Chapin, SC, and Susan (Paul) Simon of Wheaton; grandchildren Renee (Chad Sage) Scott, Michael Scott, David (Melissa) Simon, Karen (Charles) Bettcher, and Kathryn Simon; stepchildren Gary (Lenore) Spelbring and Sue (Red) Redlaczyk; and sister-in-law Sally Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in 1995, his brother William Scott, and grandson Danny Scott.
