Richard “Dick” Thinnes, Sr.

Born January 4, 1934 in Chicago, he passed away peacefully January 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dick owned and operated Thinnes Motor Services for 51 years, and was current owner of Moe-B-Dicks North Shore Pub for 23 years. He was the proprietor of many other businesses throughout the years. He was truly a “people person” and will be dearly missed by many. Dick believed in living life to the fullest and taking chances.

Dick is survived by his wife of 22 years, Maureen (nee Mueller); children, Richard Jr. (Bonnie) Thinnes, and Tomi (Frank Pecoraro) Thinnes; grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay Kvasnicka), Richard III (Amanda) Thinnes, and Dalton Schmidt; great grandchildren, Dylan, Kaylynn, Charlotte, Travis, Colton, and Allison, and brother Tom (Christine) Thinnes. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Elenor Thinnes, brother Jerry, and son Gregory.

A Celebration of Dicks life will be held from 6-8pm, Friday, January 22 at Moe - B – Dicks , 1050 North Shore Drive, Crystal Lake, 60014.
