Richard E. Ward

Richard E. Ward, 83, of Huntley, passed away January 18, 2018.
He was born December 24, 1934 in Chicago, the son of the late Francis “Frank” and Grace (nee Sullivan) Ward.
Richard graduated from St. Rita High School. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving from 1954-1957 as a Sergeant. Following his service he attended Bradley University. Richard was the President of Harris Bank, Cary-Grove.
Additionally, he enjoyed traveling and antique automobiles.
Richard is survived by his children, Christine Francini, David (Holly) Ward, Kevin Ward, and Mark (Lisa) Ward; his grandchildren, Andriana, Mia, Giorgio, Dominic, and Angelo Francini, Kelsey, Morgan and Riley Ward, and Shawn, Shelby, and Billy Cassady, and Kris and Nathan Burgett; and his siblings, Patricia Ward, Joann Beecher and Michael Ward.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce.
The visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held privately.
