Richard Wenzel

Born August 1, 1931 in Marietta, Ohio to Roy and Anna Wenzel, Dick passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home in Crystal Lake, Illinois on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
Dick grew up in Marietta, Ohio. He was an outstanding athlete and graduated from Marietta College with a degree in Geology. He served four years in the United States Air Force before working in sales for Motorola for 27 years. Dick will be remembered for his empathetic nature with an engaging personality and quick wit. Family was very important to him; he instilled a great sense of compassion for others. His love for his immediate and extended family was felt by all who knew him. Richard had a great love for life and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Susan (Robert) Liva, Richard Jr. (Nancy), Clifford, and Britt (Jerri); beloved grandchildren, Robert and Louis Liva, Ted and Abbey Wenzel, Taylor Wenzel, and Jason, Kyle, Nicholas, and Anna Wenzel; sister, Sophie Morris of Toledo, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 4-7pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
