Richard "Dick" Gerk

Richard “Dick” Gerk, 75, of Crystal Lake, was born on March 1, 1942 to the late Ervin and the late Eleanor Gerk, and passed away on December 11, 2017. Dick was the loving husband of Linda (nee Cook) for 54 years; father of Debbie (Richard) Monfeli, Julie Scott and Brian Gerk; grandfather of Anthony, Lauren, Michael and Joseph Monfeli, Kevin, Kelly and Dana Scott, Tayler and Madisen Nick, Monroe Gerk and Avery Pinkston; brother of Judy (Kenny) Brumm, Chuck Gerk, Bev (Charlie) Schrandt; brother-in-law of Judy Cook, Ron Cook, Richard Cook; father-in-law of Ken Scott, Karin Pinkston.
Dick retired from United Airlines after 42 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed target shooting with his friends on Wednesdays. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trip in Lake in the Woods. Dick also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, December 15, from 4:00-9:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. On Saturday, December 16, visitation will continue from 10:00am until the time of his service at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
