Robert Everett Brinkman, born December 20, 1954 in Johnson City, Tennessee, unexpectedly went to heaven March 21, 2014. Bob and his wife, Amy Garvey Brinkman, just celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in Spooner, Wisconsin. Bob was the son of Joyce Brinkman Kesler and the late Robert Brinkman. He leaves his wife, Amy, sons Joel Brinkman (Amy Van Aalst), Leland Brinkman, Michael Brinkman (Kylie Snyder), Thomas Hewes (Cathie Osborn), Sean Hewes and daughter Katie Hewes. He was also blessed with two grandsons, Tommy and Noah, one granddaughter, Katelyn, and looked forward to the birth of baby Henry expected next month. Bob’s sisters and brothers, Anne (Ken Linenberger), Mary B. Frank, James Brinkman (Nancy), Bill Kesler (Sheila), and Robert Kesler (Diana), have lost a brother, as well as a dear friend.
Bob lived a full life in his 59 years. After the family moved to Barrington in 1966, he attended Barrington Schools and then Kimball Union Preparatory School in New Hampshire. He was an artisan. Together, he and Amy established Artifactural Furniture and Design in Barrington. For over twenty years, Bob and Amy worked side by side building the business and raising their six children. Bob lived with passion for his family, for music, for the outdoors, and volunteered for the less fortunate. His spirit will be with us forever.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 25th from 4-8 PM at Davenport Funeral Home in Barrington and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at 2:00 PM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Avenue, Barrington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
