Robert Wayne Broos

Robert Wayne “Bob” Broos, 91, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Crystal Lake. He was born on January 26, 1926 in St. Paul, MN to Nicholas and Irene (nee Braatz) Broos.
Bob was a life-long devout Christian. After serving in the Army, he graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul. He worked for H.B Fuller Company as a technical director for over 40 years. Throughout his long career, his job took him and his family from Minnesota to California and back, and then finally to Illinois. Being an avid sports fan for the Minnesota Vikings and Twins was a big part of his family life. He also engaged his family in many of his own hobbies, including volleyball, golfing, pool, ping-pong, duck hunting, pheasant hunting, and deer hunting. He was a wonderful husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Shirley (nee Gilstad) Broos. He will be remembered by his children, Steven Robert Broos (Carol), and Timothy Wayne Broos (Vicky); his grandchildren, Tamara Krol and Kole Walter Knack-Broos; and great grandson Keegan Krol.
Services and interment will be held privately.
