Robert Burbidge

Robert D. Burbidge, 89, of Palatine, formerly of Tucson, AZ passed away peacefully, Friday, April 10, 2015, in Barrington.
He was born on November 6, 1925, to George and Frieda Drews in Chicago. They divorced when Bob was about 3. When Bob was in high school he asked if he could change his last name to Burbidge, as his step father was more of a father figure to him than his real father.
Bob graduated from Calumet High School. He served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a salesperson for many years until he retired. Robert enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his children, Elizabeth (David) Kanelos, Christine (Antonio De Pau) Burbidge, and Drew (Tammy) Burbidge; grandchildren, Jacob Kanelos, Jessie (Cyrille) Weiner, Assunta and Robert De Pau, and Matthew and Stephanie Burbidge; brother, John (Virginia) Burbidge; nephew, John (Daned) Burbidge; niece, Kristen (Mike) Cappello.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janette “Sue” Burbidge (nee Peterson).
Memorial services are Tuesday at 10:30am at First United Methodist Church, 123 North Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
