Robert August Cada

Robert August Cada, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Bob was born in Chicago, IL on March 29, 1943. He moved to Mt. Prospect, IL with his family in 1961 before permanently settling in Ingleside, IL in 1968. 

On his 21st birthday, Bob entered into service with the United States Army and served his country honorably for three and a half years. Upon returning home, he started his career as a truck driver, which gave him the opportunity to visit many places.

Bob had a passion for classic cars and owned a cherished 1964 Mercury Comet. He loved and raised Airedale Terriers for many years. He also enjoyed traveling with family and friends to numerous places, such as the Florida Gulf Coast, Alaska, as well as Canada for several fishing trips. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his loving sisters, Beverly Novak, Sharon Niebuhr (Glen), and Pamela Cruzan (Marty); and he was a wonderful uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Eleanora Cada; brother-in-law Peter Novak; and niece; Tiffany Kroll.

A memorial visitation for Bob will be held from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

Bob was very generous throughout his life and donated to many causes. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his favorite charities: National Wildlife Federation, American Institute for Cancer Research, and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
