Robert William Cave, 89, of Cary, was born on November 7, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Zida Cave. He passed away peacefully early Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Barrington.
Robert is survived by his children, Linda (Gerald) Reagle, Nancy Nagl and Jeff (Mary) Cave; his 10 adored grandchildren, Justin (Chelsey) Nagl, Sarah Hulke, Nathan Reagle, April (Ryan) Welch, Grant Reagle, Rebecca Nagl, Mark (Nicohl) Cave, Lauren (Jason) Chatterton, Elizabeth Cave and Eric Cave; and his 4 great grandchildren, Kayla, Faith, Dylan and Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis Cave; his siblings Margaret, Maxinne and Jack; his son-in-law Dennis; and his parents.
He founded A-1 Auto Body in Fox River Grove in 1973, which is now owned and operated by his son and grandson. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Robert had a passion for car restoration, watching the Chicago White Sox and spending time with family.
The family will be receiving guests from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment with military honors to follow at Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
