Robert C. Guillet

Robert C. Guillet, 67, of Crystal Lake passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL.  He was born on March 13, 1951 in San Gabriel, La Union, Philippines to Lourdes Cortez and Domingo Guillet.

First Robert received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Baguio and went on to earn a second Bachelor Degree in Health ATCB from the University of St. Francis.  While working as a nurse in the Philippines, Robert met a fellow nurse, Mercedes Calacsan.  They were married a few years later on November 15, 1980 at St. Andrew’s Church in Chicago.

After dedicating 35 years to the nursing profession, Robert retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL .

Robert lived life to the fullest.   He was very involved with his church.  He loved singing (karaoke & church choir), travel (all over the world!), and spending time with his grandchildren Henry & Luna. Robert was a foodie, a Mahjong player, and enjoyed philanthropy.

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes; children, Romer, Maricel, and Riley; grandchildren, Henry and Luna; siblings, Luz, Linda, Leopoldo, Emmanuel, Victor, Noemi, Reynaldo, and Rowena; along with a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lourdes and Domingo Guillet and brothers, Conrado Sr. and Celestino.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, from 4 PM until 9 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  A funeral mass will be Saturday, November 10, at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake.   Burial will be at San Gabriel Cemetery in the Philippines.
