Robert A. Hagglund, of Inverness, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the age of 88.
Robert and his beloved wife, Gloria, moved from Ottawa, IL to Washington D.C. after their wedding in 1955. He was in the US Army following graduation from Marquette University and employment with AT&T. He then went to work for Nuclear-Chicago and progressed through the business holding virtually every line position in the business. He became president of 4 companies in the scientific instrument and medical imaging fields: MIL, Nuclear-Chicago, Searle Radio Graphics, Siemens Medical, and EMI Medical the inventor of Nuclear Medicine CT K Scanner and MRI equipment. In these exciting fields, he was fortunate to have many notable individuals from his business who subsequently became presidents of their own businesses.
Robert is survived by his children, Phillip, Kyle, Tom, Rob and Dianne; his 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria.
Robert loved sailing with his wife and friends on Starborne, and sharing margaritas with Gloria. He liked to view movies on the Movie channel and would sometimes wonder; when he saw the credits run after the movie, what his life could look like if it were to be a business film, perhaps.
Bob and Gloria are now sailing off together again.
