Robert Molnar

Robert "Bob" A. Molnar, 60, of Crystal Lake passed away Sun. Oct 23, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Chicago to Andrew and Antoinette (nee Panella).

Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret (nee Helfert), daughters Jennifer Knappenburger and Sara Molnar; son, Jeremy Molnar; grandchildren Travis Knappenburger and Teagan Molnar; sisters Judy (Rollie) Wilson and Patricia (Dwight) Hunt; father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Elaine Helfert; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathleen Blume.

Bob served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in various departments during his 39 years at United Airlines. Most recently he spent his time in the security department, where he made friends with co-workers and considered them extended family.

Bob enjoyed traveling, working on his To-Do list, and especially spending time with his family and friends. Bob could talk to anyone, often striking up conversations with strangers in stores. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and friend.

Bob's family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and staff at Provena St. Joseph Hospital for their tireless commitment to Bob's care during his stay in the hospital since July, 2011. Special thanks to Dr. Nelson for his daily devotion to attending to Bob.

Visitation will be 3-9pm, Thurs. Oct 27 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m., Friday, Oct.28 at the funeral home with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Burial in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee following mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the continued education of Sara Molnar.
