The funeral service for Robert E. Potter, Jr., 83, long-time Barrington resident, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Born July 21, 1926, in Chicago, he passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Mr. Potter owned his own advertising and broadcasting agency, served in the Navy, was an avid fisherman, and a member of Trout Unlimited. He was an ardent University of Michigan football fan and a member of the University?s Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne (nee Low); children, Constance (John) Hoge, Bob Potter III, Sandy Witsman, John (Janet Bennion) Potter, Mary (Dan) Olson-Menzel, and Tricia (Jim) Davis; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Potter. Mr. Potter was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Ethel K. Potter, Sr.; and brother, Richard Potter.
