Robert E. Richter passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024 in Elk Grove Village.
He was born September 5, 1958 in Elgin, the son of Jeannie (Behof) and Norman A. Richter, Sr. Robert earned his Master’s Degree in Finance from DePaul University and enjoyed a lifelong career in corporate finance. He was employed at Millennium Information Services, Inc. in Itasca, Illinois for the past twelve years.

Robert enjoyed going to and watching Chicago Cubs baseball games, hiking, financial investing, and traveling; he was always busy. Every weekend he planned an activity. Some of his favorite things to do were to visit the Morton Arboretum, Anderson Japanese Gardens, and nursery and landscape centers to choose flowers and materials to plant during the spring and summer seasons. Some favorite get-away destinations that he enjoyed were the Abbey Resort and Avani Spa in Lake Geneva, Sister Bay, The American Club and Kohler Water Spa in WI, Galena, IL, and Anna Maria Island in FL, where he had hoped to retire.
Robert loved his home life. He kept his home looking beautiful both inside and out, landscaping the outdoors and planning decorating updates in the home. He enjoyed watching movies, spending time with his cats, Topaz and Jasmin, and cooking meals that inspired him on the weekends. He often watched music videos. Some of his favorites artists were Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Beatles, and Foghat from his college years.
Robert is survived by his beloved and adoring wife of 22 years, Bonita “Bonnie” Richter; step-children, Michael D. (Ashley) Groff, Jr. of Pottstown, PA, Janelle C.
