Robert L. "Bob" Schiewe, Jr.

August 14, 1952 — July 31, 2017

Robert L. "Bob" Schiewe, Jr. of Barrington, passed away July 30, 2017. He was born August 14, 1952 in Chicago to Betty (nee Grantin) and Robert L. Schiewe, Sr. He grew up in Park Ridge and Long Grove, IL with siblings Barbara, Susan, Beth, and Tim.

Those fortunate to know Bob will remember his effortless ability to entertain and make all feel welcome. With a disarming demeanor and an encyclopedic mental catalog of jokes, many were drawn to his good humor and genuine character. In places both fresh and familiar, he constantly made new friends and never lost track of the old ones. Whether a relative, friend, or dedicated employee—to Bob, all were family.

Bob loved to fish, do crossword puzzles, and golf. But he often caught nothing, didn’t finish, and bogeyed almost every hole. The outcome didn’t matter. It was more important to experience life, and he lived every moment as if it were the last.

He will be deeply loved and missed by many, including his surviving siblings Susan, Beth, and Tim; his children Ryan, Colin, and Amanda; their mother Pam; adoring nieces and nephews; his daughters-in-law, Brooke and Rachel; and two grandsons, Sam and George, who made him more proud than anything in the world. His giant goofball spirit, infectious humor, and unequaled generosity will outlive him always.
