Roberta M. Mattick, 96, was born on September 4, 1919 in Chicago to Albert O. and Mae Charlotte (nee Pritchett) Jones. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Barrington.
Roberta was a loving, generous, smart, witty, personal and entertaining woman. For those who knew her, you were witness to her exceptional strength and wisdom. She was a woman who prided herself in her college degree from Northwestern University and was always quick witted. She knew how to make the personnel at the Garlands laugh, particularly with her hats and costumes every Thursday. Roberta loved to sing and participate in group activities.
She is survived by her children, Leanne (Alex) Spiegel, Tom (Marilyn) Mattick, and Lori (Philip) Elo; her grandchildren, Jill (Ken) Wenz, Tim (Cindy) Spiegel, Andrew (Camille) Mattick, Jason (Allison) Mattick, Heather (Joe) Fitzler, Laura (Seth) Devereaux, Charlotte Elo, and Abigail Elo; her great grandchildren, Kyle, Andrew, Emily, Alex, George, Madelyn, Jackson, Kailer, Kiena, Morgan, and Colton; and her sister, Phyllis (the late Jack) Romine.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Mattick; her son, John (Bonnie) Mattick; and her parents.
The family will gather for a graveside service at 3:30pm, Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Irving Park Cemetery, 7777 Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60634.
