Robert "Bob" Grant

Robert “Bob” Grant, 85, of Village of Lakewood, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021.  He was born in Chicago on December 25, 1935, to Anton and Anna Grant.

Bob enlisted in the US Army after high school and served in Germany and countries around Europe.  He worked a few years for construction companies and then went off into several construction related partnerships.   He had a love for flying and received his pilot’s license then was able to become a flight instructor, in which he truly enjoyed for many years.

On February 14, 1983, he married Barbara Stark.  He loved being able to teach Barb how to fly.

After a Florida vacation, Bob became interested in owning real estate down there.  Through the years Bob and Barb purchased several investment properties where they could visit or rent out.

Bob had a quiet confidence about him along with a lot of patience.   He was easygoing and could easily talk to just about anyone.

Bob will be sorely missed by his wife, Barbara; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Zack) Hager and Donna (Charles) Abraham; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.   Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
