Robert "Bob" Kosobud

Robert “Bob” Kosobud passed away on December 14, 2021 at the age of 78, in Barrington, IL. He had a zest for life and a fierce desire to enjoy his life with his family and friends. Bob considered life an enormous gift which far exceeded his expectations.

He cherished his gift of family and embraced his positions of spouse, dad, and grandfather with enthusiasm and an eagerness to love, support, and lead. His love and faith ran deep through all of his relationships with family and friends. He would do anything for his family and relished participating in all aspects of their lives. Bob grabbed this gift of life and led an active life with his family and friends. He and his wife, Susan, loved to travel the country and the world.

He shared his great pleasure of the outdoors with his love of water and scuba diving, swimming, fishing, water skiing, and boating of all kinds. This love of the outdoors also included his appreciation of the cold with snow skiing and snowmobiling. On the academic side, Bob was a voracious reader and learner with his active participation in book clubs and church groups. He relished his time at church to learn and deepen his faith during services, fellowship, and adult faith studies.

He was born in Chicago, IL, to Anna and William Kosobud in 1943 and was the love of his mother’ s life. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (nee Doyle); father to Betsy Davis (nee Kosobud), Chris (Suzanna) Kosobud, and Kevin (Katie) Kosobud; grandfather to Sean and Jack Davis, Claire, John and Will Kosobud, and Olivia, Taylor, and Graham Kosobud.

Visitation will be held at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, in Barrington, on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 Brinker Road, Barrington Hills, IL 60010.
