On November 28, 2021, Roger T. Olsta of Cary, passed away at the age of 62. He was born in 1959 in Chicago.
Roger was a longtime GM Automotive Technician in Schaumburg, and lived much of his life in Algonquin and Mount Prospect. He loved tinkering with his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle and wowed his family and friends when he participated in Demolition Derbies with his famous LifeSaver painted cars. Roger's family will miss his trademark Chex Mix; his ability to install and fix everything around the house; and the chance to pepper him with questions about cars.
Roger will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Amanda (Patrick Jeschke), his son, Kyle (girlfriend Natalie Wilson), his girlfriend, Debora Lapi and her daughter, Christina (Michael) Baron; and his brothers and sisters, Dennis “Rick” (Nancy) Olsta, Patti (John) Pertell, Roberta (the late Michael) Burrows, and Jim (Julia) Olsta.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 4th, from 11am until a service at 2pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
