Ron "Ronnie" A. Ehlenburg, a lifelong resident of Woodstock, died at his home Wednesday, September 22, 2010 due to complications of ALS. At his side were his beloved wife, Kathie and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Born on September 4, 1940 he was the son of Phyllis and Harold Ehlenburg. On May 15, 1970 he and Kathleen Lowe were united in marriage. In 2001 he retired from Peet Frate Lines. He was an avid woodworker and made many beautiful things for his family members. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his Honda Gold Wing and frequently participated in local charity runs. Ron is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate , Kathie; his children, Lisa (Dan) Hackler, Christine (Jim) Robbins, Stephen (Debbie) Ehlenburg, Suzanne (Tyler) Swanson-Dominick, Jennifer (Ron) Navlyt, and Kim Ronae (Scott) Warunek; his grandchildren, Nate and Tanya Hackler, Liz, Ron and Mary Robbins, Mike, Rob and Katie Ehlenburg, Danielle, Stephanie, Jennifer and Adam Swanson, Ron II and Allyson Navlyt, Daniel (Michelle) Warunek, Justin Warunek, and Amanda Lanfear; and his great grandchildren, Kayla, Chayce, Konnyr, Natasha "Tasha", Keyser, Annaliese, Alex, Tessa, Mason, Khristine, Christopher, Alex, and Ashlyn. Preceding him in death were his parents, two infant daughters, adored uncle Irv Fierke, and Godparents, Vernon and Jesse Collen. The visitation will be on Sunday, September 26 from 3-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be on Monday, September 27 beginning at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Rev. Larry Tieman will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood.
