Ronald Rocco Civinelli

Ronald Rocco Civinelli, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024. 

Ronald was born in Chicago, IL on August 28, 1942.  

He attended Park Ridge Military Academy and St. John’s Military Academy, graduating in 1960. He was the first cadet at St. John’s to graduate at the rank of colonel.  

Ronald was a well-respected DuPage county attorney for over 52 years, having recently retired on August 1st of 2024. He served as the prosecutor for the Village of Westmont for over 25 years. He was tenacious in negotiating on behalf of his clients. He never collected a fee higher than what his client was awarded.  

He enjoyed studying history, possessing a wealth of knowledge related to the sinking of the Titanic and General George A. Custer and the Battle of Little Bighorn. He was a keen card player. He was an avid movie buff, a lover of baseball and a die-hard Cubs fan. In 2016 he felt privileged to take his son to a Cubs World Series game on his son's birthday. 

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Civinelli (nee Champion); son, Dario (Olivia) Civinelli; grandsons Phoenix and Kai Civinelli.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dario Remo Civinelli and Lillian Storino Civinelli. 

A committal service for Ronald will be held at 11:30 on Monday, November 18th at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s name may be made to an animal rescue charity of your choice.
