Ronald D. Cooper

Ronald D. Cooper, 67, of Crystal Lake passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, surrounded by his family.

On February 4, 1978, Ron married the love of his life, Renee Reuter, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake.   Together they had three children, Fallon, Megan and Jared.  Ron was a produce manager for Eagle Foods for 34 years, retiring in 2009.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating where he was known as “Captain Ron”.  He loved the Bears and Blackhawks.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Crystal lake and at their condo in North Hutchinson Island, FL.  His pride and joy was being Papa to his four granddaughters, Alayna, Ashlynn, Braelynn, and Emma.  Ron always enjoyed watching his children play sports and in the later years could be found on the sidelines cheering on his granddaughters.

His smile, quick wit and sense of humor was infectious.  Ron’s love for family and everyone around him was always evident.  The world will be a little less funny and a bit more boring without him here.

Survivors include his wife, Renee; children, Fallon and Jared (Jenna Nett); his granddaughters; siblings, Thomas (Debby) Cooper and Carole (Mike) Tipps; sister-in-law, Denise (Mark) Hummel; brother-in-law, Roger (Cindy) Reuter; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Wyman and Alvira Cooper; and his daughter, Megan.

Visitation will be Monday, November 1, 2021, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.  A visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of prayers at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 2nd.  Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
