CRYSTAL LAKE – Ronald “Ron” Gutzmer,56, of Crystal Lake, passed away
Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. He was born March 24, 1955 in Chicago to Vernon and Ardell (nee Sorenson) Gutzmer.
Ron was a devout Christian who was incredible at sharing his faith in God. He was a proud family man who treasured the time he spent with loved ones. He enjoyed working on household projects with his children. He was a craftsman with a talent for teaching his skills to others. Ron served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also a union member of Local Sheet Metal 73 for 27 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Mary Anne (nee Jung); his loving children, Nicole (Paul) Neahring, Shari Gutzmer, Mark Gutzmer and Annalise Gutzmer; his dear sister, Brenda (Jim) Heaney, and brother, Dave (Patti) Gutzmer; and his mother, Ardell Gutzmer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Gutzmer.
The visitation for Ron will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7,2011, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8,2011, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery.
