Ronald """"Ron"""" B. Mitchell"", born Jan. 20, 1935 in Detroit, Mi, passed away Wed. Oct. 5, 2011 at his home in Crystal Lake.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion (nee Walsh), daughters Pamela Schuett, Melodi (Patrick) Hoeft, Stacey (Pete) Collins, and Rhonda (Todd) Nitto, grandchildren, Jennifer (Thom) Rooney, Kristin (Kelsey) Snell, Mitchell Day, Kelsiejane, Jordon, Calliemae, and Anneabel Hoeft, Shayne Spyra, and Dalton and Brandon Nitto, great grandchildren Connor and Curran Rooney, and Baylee, Bobby, and Ben Snell, sister-in-law Carol Schueneman, and many nieces and nephews
Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Colleen Mitchell, parents Stanley and Goldie Belle Mitchell,and Bill and Fran Hendricks, brothers-in-law Richard Schueneman and Edward (Barb) Walsh, and sister in-law Lorraine Walsh.
Ron served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1953 to 1956 and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be 3-9p.m. Friday Oct 7 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday Oct. 8 at the funeral home followed by burial in Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.
