After a brave fight with cancer, Ronald L. Troxell, of Lakewood, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home, Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the age of 69.
He was born November 7, 1944 in Freeport, IL to Kenneth and Ruth (nee Dyson) Troxell. Ronald served four years with the Air Force in Japan during the Vietnam War. On May 7, 1983, Ronald married Susan Frost in Cleveland, Ohio. Ronald retired after 43 years with American Airlines. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, to include an annual fishing trip to Kentucky Lake with close friends. Ronald also planted a yearly garden, gave his time volunteering with Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, the McHenry County Conservation District, and the Crystal Lake Force Womens Soccer Team.
In addition to his loving wife, Sue, Ronald is survived by his children, Michael, and Patricia (Henning) Klingenbjerg; and many cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, 8505 Church St., Crystal Lake, IL 60012.
