Rose Marie Bonanno, of Chicago, passed away January 11, 2020 in Crystal Lake at the age of 89.
She was born June 6, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Gerage.
On October 13, 1951, Rose Marie was united in marriage to Phillip T. Bonanno in Chicago.
Rose Marie attended college in hopes of becoming a Dietician. Alongside her husband and brother, she owned Ferris Salad Company in Chicago for 40 years.
Rose Marie enjoyed hosting parties, cooking and baking for family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (James) Draftz; her grandsons, Jason (Mercedes) Draftz, Jeremy (Sarah) Draftz, Joshua (Katie) Draftz, and Nicholas Bonanno; and her great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Ava, Nathan, Ryan, Ashley, Brayden, Jada and Julia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip T. Bonanno; brother, Frank Gerage; and son, Phillip S. Bonanno.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Mary Hill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.
