The Mass of the Resurrection for Roy L. Piazza, 86, of Bartlett, formerly of Morton Grove, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 10, at St. James Parish, 820 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, where there will be memorial visitation from 9:15 a.m., until the time of Mass. Inurnment will be private.
There will also be memorial visitation from 5-9p.m., Friday, January 9, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington.
Born November 6, 1928, in Chicago, to the late Manuel and Alice Piazza, Roy passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington.
Roy was a graduate of Lane Tech High School, Chicago. He went on to proudly serve in the Marine Corps as an MP. Roy enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife and family. He was an avid Chicago sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara; children, Denise (Charles) Venegoni of Hoffman Estates, Michael (Becky) Piazza of Hoffman Estates, Karen (Peter) Phagan of Libertyville, Diane (Marc) Czapla of Cary, and Lori (Craig) Twaddle of Grayslake; grandchildren, Cara and Justine Venegoni, Jennifer (Dave) Skwarek, and Adam and David (Lindsay) Piazza, Cassidy, Conor, and Caroline Phagan, Eric and Chloe Czapla, and Jackson and Abigail Twaddle; sister, Loretta (Robert) Columbo of Alpharetta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
