Roy "Cosmo" Roche

Roy “Cosmo” Roche, 64, of Crystal Lake, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at JourneyCare, Barrington.

He was born April 13, 1950 in Breese, Illinois to the late John and Josephine (nee Alvarez) Roche. Roy married the late Susan Sanders on June 18, 1977 in Des Plaines.

Roy served with the Marine Corps from 1968-1970 during the Vietnam Conflict and received a Bronze Star.

Cosmo was the lead guitar player of the Memphis Wheels Band through the 80s and 90s and retired with the Bayview Beach Blues Band.

Survivors include his sister, Janice (Jerry) Cirrintano of Mount Prospect; brother, Tom (Rae) Roche of Prairie Du Chien, WI; nieces and nephew, Gina (John) Samolinski, Daniel, Danelle (Bernard) Schroeder, and Nicole; great-nephews and nieces, Dominic Samolinski, Garrett and Morgan Schroeder, and Madalyn; and best friend, Tom Arnolde of Crystal Lake.

The memorial visitation will be Friday, October 17 from 4-9 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Private inurnment in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Columbarium, Elwood, IL.
