Geissler, 89, of East Dundee will be held on Sunday, November 22 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main St., (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL 60010. Reverend Jeanne Hanson will officiate. Interment was private at Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Cary. Born November 8, 1919 in Poessneck, Germany, he passed away November 4, 2009 at the Clare Oaks Retirement Community in Bartlett. Survivors include his children, Burkhard (Judith A.) Geissler of Belvidere, and Ulrich (Adrienne Pot) Geissler of Barrington Hills; grandchildren, Karl (Dorie) Geissler of Champaign, Christopher (Natalie) Geissler of Barrington and Stephen (Kate) Geissler of Woodinville, WA, a granddaughter-in-law, Laura Geissler of Brookfield and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene E. Geissler, whom he married on May 23, 1942, in Mosbach/Baden Germany; grandsons Marc and Eric Geissler. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or to the Schwaben Verein Chicago, 26 W 031 Birch Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187-2900.
