Rudolph “Rudy” Pleva, 80, of Lake in the Hills, died, October 22, 2013, in Barrington, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 21, 1933, to Rudolph and Lillian Pleva, in Cary.
He is survived by his loving children, Mark (Laurie) Pleva, Valerie (Paul) Spangard, Keith Pleva, Craig (Myra) Pleva, Melanie (Bryan) Hopper, and Blair (Sandy) Pleva; adored grandchildren Steven (Rachel Murray), Megan (Tony Patrick) Sam, Sean, Kent (Jennifer), Chad, Amber, Stephanie, Brooke, Christie, Jack, Charlie, and Danny; cherished great grandchildren Owen, Gwenyth, Lucas, and Micah; dear sister-in-law, Ginny (late Ken) Katenhusen; several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Pleva (nee Johnson), his infant son Kent, his parents Rudolph and Lillian (nee Homola) Pleva, and his brother Robert Pleva.
Interment will be private at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 4-8pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
Funeral service will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, October 26, at the First Baptist Church, 320 E. Washington Street, Marengo, IL 60152. Pastor Jeff Hammer will officiate.
