Huntley, formerly of Boulder Junction, WI and Barrington,The Funeral Service for Russell Eric Rydin, 72, of Huntley, formerly of Boulder Junction, WI and Barrington, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 24, at St. Mark?s Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd, Barrington Hills, where he will lie in state from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, from 3-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington. Born March 9, 1938, in Chicago he passed away peacefully Sunday, September 19, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Russell graduated from Niles High School in 1956, and attended Bradley University. He enlisted in the Army in 1958, and following his military service, he worked as a draftsman at Apex Tool Works in Rolling Meadows, IL where he was promoted to executive vice president and served in this capacity for 30 years. He served as a member of the Vestry of St Mark?s Episcopal Church, where he was an assistant treasurer, and also served on the building committee. He was a past member of the Board of Directors for Buehler YMCA in Palatine. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann (nee Roxworthy), whom he married at St. Mark?s on August 19, 1961; children, Mindy (Stephen) Sentilles, Pamela (Richard) Sherman, Holly (Richard) Ridenour, Susan Mott and Eric (Jennifer) Rydin; grandchildren, Amanda, Tiffany and Jessica Sentilles, Kristin and Parker Sherman, Trey and Tanner Ridenour, Finn Mott, Allison and Russell Rydin; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Felicity Sherman; sister, Karen Collins; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric Russell and Jeannette Helen (nee Erickson) Rydin; and brother David Rydin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Attn: Donor Services, Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy Suite 100 Jacksonville, FL 32256-6938.
