Ruth Blahnik

Ruth E. Blahnik nee Bathke, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her home in Crystal Lake. Born on December 8, 1917 in Algoma, WI, she was the daughter of Louis and Mary (Jerabek) Bathke. On April 4, 1943 in Spokane, WA, she was united in marriage to David Blahnik. She enjoyed being a homemaker for her family; she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and past member of Home Arts Guild, both in Crystal Lake. She is survived by her loving daughters, Maridelle (Ted) McKesson of Crystal Lake and Marla (David Mathews) Strauss of Cary; her cherished grandchildren, George (Jennifer) Boyd, Brandi (Gary) Arroyo, and Timothy Boyd; her treasured great grandchildren, Camryn Boyd, Peyton Arroyo, and Portia Arroyo; her dear brother-in-law Lloyd (Laverne) Blahnik; and 4 nephews and 2 nieces. Preceding her in death were her husband, David Blahnik; her parents, Louis and Mary Bathke; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Alvina (Reinhold) Rodrian, Marie (Erwin) Moede and Viola (Carl) Lawrenz; her nephew Mahlon Moede; and her nieces, Elaine Patton and Myrna Sisel. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20 from 4-7 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake with a Prayer Service at 7pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 22 at 11am at Schinderle Funeral Home, 1600 Schinderle Lane, Algoma, WI where the family will be receiving friends and family from 10am until the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth's name may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Pathway Court, Crystal Lake IL 60014-6178 or to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inc, 405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington IL 60010-3141.
