Ruth E. Bruch, 61, a native of Ottumwa, IA and most recently a resident of Barrington Hills, IL, died, Thursday, October 30th, in Barrington.
She was born June 17, 1953, in Ottumwa, IA to Harold and Betty (nee Allar) Bruch.
Ruth was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and the University of Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. During her career, Ruth held extensive senior leadership positions in the areas of finance and information technology for organizations in several different industries. She served as chief information officer of several publicly-traded companies and other organizations, including Union Carbide, Visteon Corporation, Lucent Technologies, and the Kellogg Corporation. She also served on the board of directors for the Bank of New York Mellon and Teledyne Technologies Inc. Ruth was a member of the Lutheran Church of Atonement, and served on the Cancer Foundation Board for the University of Chicago and the Visiting Executive Advisory Board for Harvard University.
Ruth is survived by her husband, John L. Gigerich; her former husband, Keith Moderson; parents, Harold and Betty (nee Allar) Bruch; sister, Katherine (Terry) Martinson; brothers, Christopher (Terri), Thomas (Nancy) and Philip (Karen) Bruch; several loving nieces, nephews, 3 great-nieces and great-nephew, and a large network of extended family and close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m., Monday, November 3rd, at the Lutheran Church of Atonement, 909 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington, IL 60010, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be private.
